Responsible for the management and delivery of the Bosch contribution to this innovative 18 month, £8 million, collaborative R&D project which is focused on developing an online marketplace for mobiltiy data (part of CAM Testbed UK). Based at Bosch’s Connectory Innovation space in Shoreditch, Simon has put together and is managing a small cross functional team of data scientists, BD personnel, and outside consultants. Activities include planning, executing, and coordinating the delivery of work packages and deliverables which fulfil the business’s objectives, as well as line management, ensuring processes are followed, managing budgets, recruiting, procuring data licenses, negotiating commercial contracts, and reporting on progress to government, external partners, and senior internal stakeholders.

Overall responsibility for the management and delivery of this 3-year collaborative R&D project which was focused on reducing the timescales and cost of testing automated driving technologies through big data and connectivity. As well as day-to-day project management activities, Simon’s role involved managing a small team of engineers and data scientists and overseeing the development of software for the project. Other responsibilities included coordinating the effort of both internal and external project teams, running workshops, and liaising with government, industry, and senior stakeholders. The project, which had a budget of £5.5m, involved live trials of vehicles fitted with automated driving systems on the streets of London.

Responsible for managing and negotiating all global contracts with Bosch's largest automotive OEM customer in UK. These contracts include terms and conditions for supply of Goods, software licensing, engineering services, and R&D agreements (including collaboration agreements for government funded projects). Also responsible for negotiating and agreeing responses to customer process and engineering requirements and putting in place Bosch internal systems/processes to manage these requirements.
