The Global Ocean Commission, an independent, international commission comprised of former heads of state, ministers and business leaders, tasked with tackling the current degradation of the ocean. The Global Ocean Commission launched an ambitious rescue package of proposals designed to restore ocean health on 24th June 2014 entitled ' From Decline to Recovery - A Rescue Package for the Global Ocean '. Since June 2014 the Commission has worked successfully to further advance its proposals and in February 2016 issued its final report entitled ' The Future of Our Ocean: Next Steps and Priorities '. The Commission will formally conclude on 31st March 2016.
