Simone strives to improve justice policy and practices for youth, adults, and communities by working alongside them and professionals and other advocates in the justice system to identify areas of concern and implement sustainable solutions.Simone works with Evident Change’s research department as part of the CAIS/JAIS team, focusing on risk and responsivity tools, training supervision strategies, and other various justice and human services data and equity initiatives. She has served as an outreach specialist for Texas Health and Human Services’ Youth Empowerment Services Waiver, as well as an AmeriCorps volunteer with the Texas Juvenile Justice Department and the University of Texas at Austin’s Annette Strauss Institute. Additionally, she has experience as a juvenile supervision officer in a trauma-informed detention facility.
