At CGI (formerly Logica) - Project Manager for the support and development of the grant application and management system for the Big Lottery Fund. The Big Lottery Fund distributes 50% of the money provided by the UK National Lottery to various Good Causes throughout the UK. The system I supported and developed has been used to process and monitor hundreds of thousands of complex grant applications and over £10bn in grants. Since then I have worked on the Police National Database project, working on Sub-contractor relationships and client proposals, followed (in 2010) with a role as Delivery Manager and then Project Manager for Oracle e-Business Suite systems for Government. Currently I work on Cyber projects.

I became Chairman of the Dorothy Dunnett Society in 2009. This organisation promotes interest in the history, political and religion of 11th, 15th and 16th Century Scotland as they appear in the books of Dorothy Dunnett, and of interest in the books themselves. Since I became chairman, Society membership has more than doubled (from 300 to 650 members), in a number of countries across the world. I became Secretary of the Society in 2004, and first became a member of the Committee in 2003. All these positions were voluntary and unpaid.

Organise a Conference in 2012 in Istanbul for 115 readers of the books of Dorothy Dunnett. This involved engaging with hotels, with destination management companies, visiting location in advance, ordering conference materials, arranging speakers, transporting goods from UK to Istanbul, taking books, creating a website for information and to take bookings.

Organise a Conference in 2005 in Istanbul for 96 readers of the books of Dorothy Dunnett from around the world. This involved engaging with hotels, with destination management companies, visiting location in advance, ordering conference materials, arranging speakers, transporting goods from UK to Malta, preparing a user guide and other documentation, creating a website for information and to take bookings.
