What is Dementia in Dub?Dementia in Dub is a collaborative partnership committed to enabling a community conversation about dementia through reggae music.We are an independent enterprise that supports and encourages creative and intergenerational projects involving reggae music and people of African- Caribbean heritage coming together to tackle the challenge of dementia in the African-Caribbean communities. The projects will co-produced with people living with dementia and people caring for those living with dementiaHow do we work?We are committed to organic growth and learning from experience as an organisation and will be continuously reviewing and evolving the organisational structure of Dementia in Dub. In outline our current configuration provides a non-hierarchical core executive mentoring and quality oversight function, supporting innovator projects in a hub and spoke structure around a Creative Hub. Project leads will be very much the key decision makers and enablers for their own innovator projects.

“Without music life would be a mistake,” Nietzsche MUSIC & MEMORY℠ is a non-profit organization that brings personalized music into the lives of the elderly or infirm through digital music technology, vastly improving quality of life. We train nursing home staff and other elder care professionals, as well as family caregivers, how to create and provide personalized playlists using iPods and related digital audio systems that enable those struggling with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other cognitive and physical challenges to reconnect with the world through music-triggered memories.

Dan Cohen, established Music & Memory in 2010 on a hunch that hearing favourite music could improve the quality of lives of individuals isolated in nursing homes.
