I joined the Pricing Department as a Pricing Analyst and was promoted to the role of Senior Pricing Specialist. I specialised in the Mortgage product area, reporting to the Head of Pricing but I have also worked in the same role pricing Savings, Banking and Unsecured Loans. I had 2 direct reports, one of whom is a fully qualified accountant. I had responsibility for modelling and reporting profitability for Santander mortgages. This was done by modelling the NPV of mortgage products through their expected life and risk, capital, funding costs, hedging, up front costs were all taken into account. o Understanding of key economic drivers for interest rates. I ensured internal hedging of Santander interest rate risk for fixed rate mortgages.o Worked closely with Treasury to develop equity derivative savings products including the launch of the 1yr Stock market bond which was unique in the market. o I helped develop the Abbey fixed rate monthly savings range by modelling the cash flow profitability of a competitor product.o Previously responsible for evaluating and considering the impact across the group of savings and banking proposals for subsidiary companies such as Cater Allen, Cahoot and Abbey Internationalo Regular former attendee and input to Interest Rate Forum and Banking Market Risk Forum.o I formed and chair a monthly Pricing / Marketing Forum which allows senior managers within finance, marketing and risk an opportunity to discuss and shape customer propositions, debate important topics and track action points.o Presented to the Abbey For Intermediaries key account relationship management team.
