For over nine years I have been a design consultant with the commercial team behind the UK’s most engaged news brands. I create and design special projects, launches, partnerships and branded content. This involves brainstorming creative campaign solutions for brands such as British Airways, Sky, P&O Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Sony Pictures and Lionsgate across all sections of the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, Mail Online Metro and The i Newspaper – preparing them for pitches, and seeing projects through to the final execution. Highlights include creating and launching Mail sub-brands including CHECK IN and ECO2 Magazine.

I deputised on the weekly creation of 100-plus pages of the UK’s largest-circulation Saturday magazine. I designed covers, features and supplements then took full responsibility in the creative director’s absence working closely with newspaper executives.

During this period of my career, I began to focus on magazine and newspaper design. I started at The Independent working across all departments, then onto FHM, Men’s Health, and the launch of Heat.

With a burning ambition to be a designer, I began my career on the drawing board straight from school at 17 using Letraset and a scalpel to create advertisements for brands such as British Gas and Miss Selfridge. As the desktop publishing revolution exploded, I used that opportunity to combine my new skills to work abroad. Highlights include working in San Francisco and at the leading advertising agency in Sydney, working on campaigns for McDonald’s.
