Prior to working in the third sector, Simon worked in financial services.Simon joined CMT United Kingdom as Chief Executive in 2019. CMTUK supports people living with Charcot Marie Tooth disease, a group of neuropathic conditions.In May 2015 Simon was elected to Bournemouth Borough Council as Councillor for Winton East Ward and in 2019 was elected to the newly formed Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council and subsequently re-elected in 2023. He is currently Vice Chairman of the Council. Parliamentary Candidate Bournemouth West (2017, 2019).Previously: Celebrant (Humanists UK)Chief Officer for Bournemouth 2026 Trust - A Community Land Trust and Charity based in the Old School House, Boscombe. Chief Executive of Vita Nova, a charity working in the Arts and supporting people with mental health and addiction issues. Set up in 1999, Simon steered the organization from a community group into a successful charity and drove the project forward supporting many to move on with their lives. He left in 2015.
