I'd describe myself as a geographer first and foremost having worked in a wide range of roles across central and local government that have required various elements of geographic data, technology and policy expertise. However, I feel that my main speciality is being able to engage with stakeholders to effectively communicate the need and importance for better ways of managing and utilising data (whether that be spatial or otherwise) to help improve business processes, public services and society as a whole. Throughout my career and various roles, my confidence and knowledge have increased considerably and I can now undertake many potential roles and speak with authority on a great many topics.
