I am passionate about seeing students confidently walk ahead because they know who they are and where they want to go. I work with young people to guide them to a place where they can increase objectivity, solve problems, take healthy risks, manage stress and anxiety to their advantage, and clearly see their true best.I see potential in every young person, and I have a unique ability to meet students where they are and build a genuine, mutually respectful relationship. From that relationship young people grow in their resiliency and resolve to accomplish tasks that once seemed insurmountable.As a performance coach, I work with high-potential students who want to position themselves for athletic or academic success, helping them access a healthy perspective so they can enjoy performing to their fullest capacity. Highly motivated students are often overstretched, over-scheduled, and overly stressed, and I provide strategies for recognizing their true best and managing their lives in healthy pursuit of a new vision for who they are and who they might become.As a school counselor, I work with students through crisis, academic strategy, relational conflict, and emotional learning. I collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and administration regarding students' ability to succeed in all facets of school. As a youth & family therapist, I equip youth and parents for greater effectiveness in communication, setting boundaries, and conflict resolution. I walk with young people through clinical depression and anxiety disorders, and I help them reach a safer, more productive, and healthy place.I have more than 20 years of experience with adolescents in various settings. I live in the western suburbs of Chicago, where I use my nearly-7-foot height to reach things on high shelves for my wife, our two teenage girls, and our lovable dog. I love to travel with my family, coach youth softball, and cheer for all the sports teams from my hometown, Denver, Colorado.
