Design and development of all components of a belt tensioner. The activity is based on several phases:• Material definition and design of the components such as: Support plate, arm, pivot, spring, pulley etc.• Research of the best mechanical process for realization of the components previously designed and defined.• Research and define the best bearing which can guarantee the functionality of the project.• Design necessary tools to assemble the components.• Assemble and realization of the belt tensioner prototype. This phase also includes the definition of the most appropriate mechanical process which allows the correct assemblage (calking, press fitting etc.) considering the offset and encumbrance in the engine bonnet.• Define the assemblage parameters such as the velocity and the press forces, and the position of the prototype.• Material definition and design of necessary tools for the final tests on the prototype assembled before (duration, parallelism, offset etc..) by simulation of the engine work conditions as temperatures, torque which is necessary to be transmitted and the different engine's rpm.
