I currently work with Chime, The National Charity for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People. I manage the new Children and Family Service and our Day Service for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Adults. I previously worked as a PIC (Person in Charge), leading out on a new Children's Respite Service, having previously managed two adult residential community homes. The respite service aims to provide a high quality setting for children aged between 4-18, providing a safe and loving space for children, supporting them and their families through a therapeutic model of care using trauma informed interventions.I previously worker as an assistant person support manager with St Margarets, IRL-IASD.I gained experience as a deputy team leader in residential care. The service users I supported have a range of complex needs such as schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder and acquired brain injury. I continously aim to improve my knowledge in social care. I volunteered in Sosad which is a company who provides assessment and counselling service for people who have suffered bereavement, loss or who suffer depression themselves or have someone in their family with depression. My role here was to take phonecalls from clients and arrange assessments and suitable counsellors. I aimed to provide a warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere when clients come to the office. Prior to my role as Deputy Team Leader, I worked as a social care worker in residential care home for adults with learning disabilities, I.D, acquired brain injury, autism, mental health and present with challenging behaviours. I was awarded Social Care Practice student of the year for outstanding achievement in practice and exams. I achieved a GPA of 3.5 in my second year with an A in my placement practice.
