I’m a natural communicator and relationship builder with 10+ years of experience in the hospitality industry and a strong desire to transition into human resources. With a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources (as of May 2023) and a background in customer service, I am excited to find a role in training and development. My inspiration for this career path is to make a positive change in the world. I want employees to feel included in the conversation and to know that every individual contributes to the successes of an organization. I’m passionate about teaching people new things and find it rewarding to be part of their learning journey. It’s inspiring to watch others become the best version of themselves, to be part of their "ah-ha" moments, and to see them gain confidence in their abilities. I look at every individual as a puzzle, and I love figuring out which leadership style and educational or motivational strategy would work best for them. Often, individuals require a unique combination of all three. I like finding ways to engage employees and being an educational resource: I actually enjoy answering the “why!”Working in restaurants has taught me how to keep communication clear, concise, and engaging with a wide variety of people. I’m a proactive problem- solver by nature. Getting ahead of problems reduces stress in the organization and increases efficiency. I take pride in instinctually knowing how to best support my team. I’m always searching for ways to improve my skillset and acquire different experiences through self-directed knowledge-seeking, whether it’s online platforms or books about leadership and development.
