She has significant experience in clinical information system design and evaluation, and workforce optimisation in the healthcare sector. Siobhan was engaged by Mondial Assistance to review all aspects of the Company’s process for underwriting pre-existing medical conditions for their Travel Insurance Clients. She combined Mondial’s claims’ experience and international medical evidence, to provide written guidelines for consistent and justifiable decision making by the nursing staff. She rewrote the Pre-existing definition, policy wording, medical declarations, and outgoing communication letters to provide a simplified and transparent medical assessment process.She also created data collection and reporting systems to facilitate analysis and review of Pre-Existing Medical decisions, and claims outcomes. Finally, Siobhan designed and implemented a medical referral system for the Claims Team, which allowed quick identification and accurate follow-up of suspected fraudulent or inflated claims.

Siobhan was tasked with the establishment of the Brisbane Office of the newly-established Medical Indemnity Provider. Her role included liaison with medical students, university representatives, doctors in training, medical educators, and doctors in practice to promote MDA National membership, and establish its services in Queensland. As the office grew, Siobhan became involved in the production and presentation of educational sessions, and written material, on medical indemnity, medico legal issues, and risk management. She was the author of first Australian Medical Indemnity Policy for Medical Students, and Inaugural Editor of Doctors-In-Training Newsletter

Siobhan commenced her post-graduate career as a doctor, working with patients, senior team members and other health professionals to provide care for approximately 20 general medical patients. This included administrative duties, documentation, and investigation requests, and performing minor medical procedures such as cannulation and phlebotomy.In a move to administration, Siobhan was contracted to produce a detailed Medical Marketing Plan for the New Mater Children’s Private Hospital, in order to ensure the financial well-being of the Hospital through improving activity in line with increased size, for presentation to Hospital Board. This involved background research, comparative data analysis, and predictive reporting to establish appropriate marketing strategies, and target specialties and specialists.
