I’m one of those people who always liked to figure out how things worked – from creating a pulley system at 5 so I could pull my stuffed animals over the dog gate to taking apart my computer in high school to fix it for a small fraction of the cost of getting it professionally repaired. As a Computer Science teachers assistant and major at Connecticut College, I find immense satisfaction watching the eyes of students who are just starting out light up as they make a connection after something is explained. As for my own studies, I am currently exploring the numerous places computer science can take me. Thus far game design and machine learning have piqued my interest, but to count anything out at this point would be a mistake. I value myself as a fast learner and a team player, as well as being capable of stepping up to a leadership position.I am also majoring in Philosophy as I have been fascinated with the ‘always questioning’ school of thought that simply makes one step back and think about why they believe what they do.Out of class, I am a member of Dasein, our school's club frisbee team, I enjoy playing all varieties of games with Magic the Gathering being my favorite, and I am currently doing my best to teach myself how to play the guitar.
