Manage and maintain all facility assets and activities

--Lead installer on company wide rollout of multiswitch Sonus VOIP hardware and support equipment, including Sonus GSX-9000, Cisco and Juniper routers, Sun servers, ethernet switches and all associated racking, cabling, grounding and DC power. Perform test and turn up on all installed hardware to prepare equipment and systems for remote access-Facilities Manager responsible for technical support and management of a telecom facility/ data center and remote P.O.P. Ensure all systems are maintained on 24x7 basis. HVAC, UPS and DC power systems, diverse telecom systems, cable plant in a multi building environment, vendor bidding, contract awards and management of upgrades and changes-Platform Specialist for 24 hr. operation. Second and third tier support for national platform of Lucent telephone switches, diverse telecommunications and data hardware. Recommend fault isolation procedures, create training plans, train junior technicians, resolve degraded service and outages while minimizing customer impact-Platform Hardware Engineer responsible for the planning and deployment of a multi-site network of Lucent voice switches and diverse support equipment, including deployment project management, engineering documents and diagrams, purchasing, scheduling, shipping, receiving, physical installation and test and acceptance of installed systems

-Design verification, configuration and activation of multipoint and multiplexed DS0-DS3 circuits, utilizing:--Titan 5500 Digital Circuit Cross-Connect, Alcatel M13 multiplexers, and various channel banks--DSX1 and DSX3 cross connect systems, and main distribution frames--Automated requirement process system (task scheduling, test certification, and circuit acceptance)-Customer premise installation of channel banks, routers, channel and digital service units includling test and turn-up of LEC provided DS1 and DS3-Terminal and customer premise fault isolation and outage resolution

-Install, configure, and activate local SONET ring OC3 and OC12 multiplex equipment, to include:--Installation and activation of bays, power distribution, alarming, DSX equipment and cabling--Configuration and turn up of SONET rings, activation of DS1, DS3 circuits riding multi-ring paths-Install and activate CISCO 2500 and 7000 series routers including network monitoring equipment, power, cabling-Perform upgrades and reconfigurations of existing equipment and systems with little or no loss of service-Read and interpret network, system and circuit design documentation to determine required tasks, materials and standards-Maintain company techncian vehicle in clean, organized, inventoried and ready to work state at all times

-Manage air force base telecom central office responsible for the activation, change, and removal of long-haul communications circuits and associated equipment for McClellan Air Force Base and circuits to the Pacific area--Review circuit and network layout designs for efficiency, redundancy, and technical accuracy--Plan and implement automated facility record keeping for 600 circuits and associated equipment--Replaced paper forms, records, and layout drawings with automated databases and diagrams--Installed and activated two regional government router nodes, support equipment, and cabling--Installed, activated and maintained hundreds of high capacity (DS1) trunks, and user circuits -Supervise 6 technicians, ensuring mission, timeline, and strict budget goals are met--Create and verify material lists, task assignment schedules, and inventory sheets, 24 hour work schedules, and spares inventory lists--Create training plans on subjects including station power, circuit activations, and telecom equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting--Conduct ongoing training on technical material, ensuring junior technicians are efficiently and effectively trained on technical topics-Supervise 24 hour trouble desk, isolating and repairing outages on systems utilizing:--Optical point to point multiplex equipment, single and multimode optical pathways--Modems, Digital Service Units (DSU’s), and Channel Service Units (CSU’s)--Circuit switching systems, multiplexing systems, routers, distribution frames, cabling, patch bays--HF, VHF, UHF, microwave LOS, and Satellite systems-Served as technical advisor to Theater Communications Officer during the Persian Gulf War
