Sofia holds an MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University SAIS in Bologna, Italy, and Washington, DC, and a BA in International Studies from Leiden University in The Hague, the Netherlands. She has acquired over four years of experience abroad, living in the Dominican Republic, the Netherlands, Italy, and Belgium. Sofia speaks French (working proficiency), Spanish (heritage speaker), and Dutch (beginner).Sofia’s expertise lies in transatlantic relations, democracy and governance, human rights, and security strategy. She has completed internships at the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, the U.S. Mission to the EU, and the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA). She is currently working as a Program Associate for Europe & Eurasia at the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE). CIPE is one of the four core institutes of the National Endowment for Democracy, and an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
