I am a Professor of Economics at Umeå School of Business, Economics, and Statistics (USBE). My academic career focuses on research on consumer behavior and procurement auctions applied to different settings and data. My previous work includes retailer choice and loyalty schemes, household demand for food (price elasticities and distributional issues) and supplier selection in purchasing and more specifically public procurement. The work on public procurement and purchasing policies spans from theoretical to empirical, applied research and issues related to green purchasing procedures, procedure design and supplier selection, and competition effects. Recent projects include the effects of privatization in elderly care, cartel detection, effects of regulation in public procurement, green public procurement as an instrument of environmental policy and incentive structures to increase organic farming.I have been the Dean of Umeå School of Business, Economics and Statistics at Umeå University (USBE) for the period 2015 to 2023. In addition to my role as the school Dean, I act as an AACSB mentor, has experience from international review panels and several commission of trust. USBE is a university integrated business school located at Umeå University Campus in Northern Sweden. The Campus offers the students an interactive learning environment and good opportunities to meet and socialize with students from other programs. USBE is known for its high quality of education, research, interaction with external stakeholders and its strong focus on internationalization and sustainable development. We are since 2018 AACSB accreditated with a succesful continuous improvement review in 2022, since 2015 ISO14001 certified, members of the Global Business School Network (GBSN) and advanced participant, a signatory of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). The school has about 150 employees and close to 4,000 students in our programs and courses annually.
