Senior Advisor, Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
CurrentSenior advisor to DOE's State Community & Energy Programs (SCEP). Provides talking points, presentations, speeches, press releases, research and briefings for senior DOE leadership. Provides guidance on public affairs and stakeholder outreach strategies to promote and enable strategic investments by a wide range of government, community and business stakeholders. Outreach tasks includes developing innovative ways to inform the public about the office’s goals and accomplishments. Identifies and works closely with internal and external stakeholders in the public and private sectors, non-profits, academia and media. Leads the SCEP en Español initiative, overseeing the creation of fact sheets, website, press releases, blogs, graphics, testimonials, and videos in Spanish.Reviews congressional and legislature presentations for the Greenlight/Concurrence process, as well as correspondence, and questions for the record.Daily Duties include:• Managing the website, other online communications tools, press releases, print publications, and event planning and coordination.• Preparing communications such as the development of mission statements, special reports, etc. within assigned areas.• Responding, in oral and written form, to requests for information by determining the nature of the information required and collecting and assembling the material using the appropriate format and style based on needs and organizational practices.• Developing working relationships with external and internal communication and press officials in Federal, State and local government agencies, private businesses, professional and trade organizations.• Representing assigned programs in internal and external communications efforts to ensure that critical programs/projects are properly and successfully presented to the proper audiences.• Developing and implementing communication strategies for various program audiences.
