About Sohini Mishra
I am an experienced, self-motivated, and result-oriented senior structural engineer. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in structural engineering at UCD, Dublin. I received an A grade in all structural Engineering core modules in the MEngSc Structural Engineering program at UCD. I have worked approximately 14 years with a Tier-1 Conglomerate in India, in diverse areas of structural design and structural analysis. I received several appreciations from the organization and also, from clients for on-time and high-quality delivery of projects. I received a “Value Award” for the highest standard of work, client satisfaction, and loyalty. I have delivered several end-to-end structural engineering projects which involves • Delivery of structural analysis and design.• Drawing checking or review • Resolution of site construction-related challenges by providing alternate design solutions.• Addressing technical queries from the client design team and approving authorities.• Researching various technical alternatives to provide optimal design solutions.• Managing and providing technical guidance to a team of 3 engineers and 6 designers. I have delivered approx. 70+ large complex industrial structures, with some of the notable examples including:• Design of twin rotary Wagon tippler (the structure is about 39mx32mx30 m deep below ground and made up of around 10,000 cubic meter concrete). The design had highly complex geometric arrangements and multifaceted functionality• Design of intricate structural steel buildings using finite element analysis• Design of water retaining structures with specified crack width limitationsIn parallel to these projects, I also researched multiple innovative projects within the company: for example software maturity including scalability assessment and tool development to automate part of the structural analysis and design work.
