Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing the DNCC security plan for a $100MM+ / 4-day National Special Security Event (NSSE) focused on public safety at two venues (United Center and McCormick Place Convention Center), and management of permitted and spontaneous demonstrations for all Convention participants, including delegates, alternates, Democratic Party leaders, former U.S. Presidents, Members of Congress, and numerous other Federal, State and Municipal elected officials, the media, the entertainment industry and other honored guests.▪ Serve as Chief of Staff to the Security Team and liaison between the DNCC and U.S. Secret Service, the Chicago Police & Fire Departments, Federal, State and Municipal protective details and 45 DNCC contracted hotel security directors.▪ Responsible areas of operation: hall access control, hall fusion center, convention center access control and DNCC office security.

Promoted (newly created position) to manage interaction with USAF Air Mobility Command (AMC) and Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), regarding C-130, C-5, LMXT, Next Generation Airlift, Next Generation Tanker, Combat Rescue Helicopter, laser weapon system developments, unmanned aerial systems, and associated munitions. Led 2 staff (in-person / remote) and 2 consultants.▪ Guided DOD engagement campaign on KC-135 tanker replacement and planning for accelerated NGAS.▪ Represented LMCO as National Aeronautic Association Board Member and on Collier Award Selection Committee.

Served as pillar lead for Air Mobility and Training team, managing interaction with USAF AMC, Air Force Material Command (AFMC), and Air Education and Training Command (AETC) on mobility, acquisition, and training matters. Led 7 in-person / remote staff and 2 consultants.▪ Launched LMGA strategic aerial refueling campaign (KC-Y competition / Next Gen Tanker), firmly positioning Lockheed Martin in the tanker business.▪ Led DOD engagement on C-130J, maintaining existing customers (keep sold) and growth opportunities.

Generated team commitment / quarterly updates to LMGA Annual Marketing Plan (AMP) and read-ahead memos for CEO engagements with senior OSD and AF leaders. Drove cross-team integration.▪ Managed mission team consultants on key company programs; built team value by coaching and improving knowledge.▪ Headed LMGA annual USAF Charity Ball benefiting Air Force Aid Society.

Served as strategic adviser to Secretary of Air Force (SecAF), including operations, policy, communications, legislative and managerial leadership. Provided guidance to civilian and military leaders on priorities, initiatives, and plans of SecAF.▪ Modernized internal and external communication of Air Force between multiple audiences, including Air Force, OSD and broader USG, A&D Industry, Congress, and international allies.▪ Instituted greater strategic planning across Headquarters Air Force (HAF) staff; collaborated with top 5 HAF leaders’ offices on generating consistent messaging.▪ Designed and implemented first-ever annual SecAF Forum, at Air Force Association Conference, ensuring leaders and key stakeholders continued engagement on behalf of USAF.▪ Received Department of Air Force Decoration for Exceptional Civilian Service (2017).

Advised Assistant Secretary of Defense, Secretary of Defense, and Deputy Secretary of Defense on department engagement with US Congress on policy, strategy, and budget matters. Managed approximately 50 staff.▪ Served as OSD lead to the White House and NSC Legislative Affairs offices; led weekly US Combatant Command LL synchronization meeting.▪ Engaged with Congress on multiple actions, including government shutdown planning (twice), rollout of 2012 defense strategy, and lessons learned from Benghazi attacks.▪ Recipient of Department of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service (2014).▪ Recipient of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service (2013).

Supervised team of 9 active-duty military and civilian personnel charged with shaping strategy for Congressional engagements and directly supporting Secretary of Defense, Deputy Secretary of Defense, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, and 12+ Assistant Secretaries and Deputy Assistant Secretaries of Defense.▪ Served as Legislative Affairs lead for OSD-LA on several high-profile engagements and initiatives, including support for Marine Corps relocation to Guam, rollout of Quadrennial Defense Review, Ballistic Missile Defense Review, and Nuclear Posture Review.− Negotiated with Congress to restore funds for B-61 life extension program and $5.78B increase to nuclear modernization programs.− Contributed to ratification of New START Treaty with Russia by enlisting support of Senators.▪ Appointed to Senior Executive Service (SES).▪ Recipient of Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service (2011).

Collaborated on research and reports focused on US interests in Iraq, readiness of American ground forces, future of Department of Defense, relationship between Congress and Pentagon, global climate change, and advancing Middle East peace. Served as primary Congressional liaison on behalf of organization and its principals.

Advised sitting Senator on Appropriations Committee and Chairman of Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee, and Ranking Member of Personnel Subcommittee. Areas of concentration included Iraq, Afghanistan, war on terrorism, military personnel matters, nuclear and missile defense issues, emerging threats, NATO enlargement, Middle East peace process, intelligence reform, and Darfur.

Advised President of the United States and National Security Adviser on drug trafficking and international crime issues. Oversaw military, economic, and humanitarian assistance package (Plan Colombia). Co-wrote first International Crime Threat Assessment, as member of Interagency Working Group on Organized Crime.

Coordinated counter-drug efforts for Assistant Secretary of Defense (ASD) for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict (SOLIC) and Deputy ASD for drug enforcement policy and support.▪ Recipient of Office of Secretary of Defense Award for Outstanding Achievement (2000).
