Current~ Manage employment law and disputes/litigation at enterprise software (SaaS) multinational in 15+ countries (Americas, EMEA, APAC/APJ). 50-state US practice, including familiarity with California’s employment law innovations. Develop mid-level attorney. ~ Advise business leaders – from CEO to front-line managers – on employee relations issues such as performance management, discipline, FMLA and leaves of absence, terminations, reductions in force, HIPAA obligations, accommodations, discrimination, criminal allegations, wage and overtime payment, retaliation, and whistleblowing. ~ Develop cross-functional partner relationships globally to advise and address risks in employment, commercial, privacy, IP, information security, and marketing. ~ Evaluate and improve HR and legal processes and documentation for templating and scalability. ~ Calibrate for and anticipate risk; direct business to preemptive compliance in wage and hour, policies, training, disputes, investigations, background checks, and diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. ~ Negotiate challenging separations, recommend solutions and settlement values, and close disputes. ~ Engage and manage outside counsel and e-discovery vendors for advice and litigation matters. ~ Manage approach to development of remote and contingent workforce in US and globally (PEO, agency, independent contractor, and other models). ~ Recognize and respond to data privacy issues, disputes, and cross-border processing scenarios. ~ Support launch of new workforce in 5+ countries (including Israel, Singapore, and India), through acquisition or new entity stand-up; address global migration and immigration issues. ~ Plan and execute major business changes (deal team for $6.5B take-private, restructurings, retention agreements, sales compensation changes, diligence for mergers & acquisitions, job reclassifications, executive succession, benefits changes).
