• Accountable for the overall IT management of a multimillion-pound group of travel organisations, pertaining to the maximisation of the development and delivery of technical support, operating extensively throughout numerous sites on a worldwide basis, such as the UK, Germany, Italy, Ireland and Australia. • Lead and developed the IT team, maintaining a collective and constructive working environment within the department, and across the company, undertaking comprehensive answerability for managing IT-related activities of the entire IT team, in particular areas such as: definition, design, installation, maintenance, support, and upgrade of operating systems, software, hardware & peripherals, monitoring and maintenance of network equipment, applications and security, database design, development and administration, technical support and troubleshooting, establishment and execution of backup, restoration, anti-virus strategies, VPN technology and quality assurance.• Demonstrated effective project management ability when accepting main responsibility for IT budgets, implementation of strategies and delivery of business plans.• Exhibited first-rate technical competence when leading the facilitation and prioritisation of IT various requirements, relating to extensive projects, communicating the detailed information efficiently and coherently to all team members; further demonstrated IT knowledge and interpersonal skills when engaging as a liaison between internal and external customers and communicated technical details to non-technical personnel, thus proving the ability to translate complex technical data into an apprehensible format.• Utilised first-class business relationship attributes when successfully building cross-departmental relationships, with the overall aim to ultimately manage project objectives, design application solutions, prioritise deliverables, determine implementation strategy and coordinate assignment of resources.

Responsibilities included the daily administration and configuration of all PC’s and servers, all networking and server room equipment and all telecommunications systems. Installation and maintenance of corporate anti-virus software, VPN’s and firewalls. Overseeing of maintenance and repair of third party products, user and customer technical support. Compiling the IT budget and reporting directly to the Managing Director.
