About Spencer Phillips

I am an ecological economist* working to help communities, people and organizations better understand, articulate and act on solid information about the relationships between the economy and the environment. With 20+ experience in policy-oriented research and non-profit leadership, I offer analytical, strategic, and organizational development services.* Ecological Economics: Economics as if people AND the laws of thermodynamics matter.Recent research focus: ecosystem service valuation, quantifying conservation-economy relationships, and documenting the economic effects of climate change, hard-rock mining, and energy extraction on and around public lands.I am interested in learning from others' research in these areas, developing partnerships for further research, and informing the dialogue around environmental policy.
