Immediately out of college, I worked for 5 years in an environmental laboratory performing analytical testing in inorganic and organic disciplines. After returning to college to complete course work for a secondary education certificate, I started work at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. My work history there includes 27 years of experience in the nuclear industry under DOE oversight and NRC regulation.During that time I developed and facilitated the training program for the analytical laboratory under DOE and NRC regulation. I facilitated incident investigation and corrective action development and tracking, as well as, administered a laboratory quality control program in compliance with multiple national laboratory certifications.I have 3 years of experience managing a work group of 13-18 people and 20 years of experience organizing and facilitating multiple programs and work initiatives for analytical laboratory of 60 people. Education is a passion with me – whether it is leading adult study groups, presenting science demonstrations to school groups, coaching children’s soccer, or teaching swimming and water safety to all ages. I am energetic and task oriented. My strengths include change management and thinking out of the box. I excel at program development and management. I have excellent communication skills with experience in public speaking, presentations, and professional and technical writing. I’m considered highly organized and effective in work activities - consistently rated “exceeds expectation” in annual performance reviews.
