I work with photos in Photoshop Elements and Vuescan, and arrange pages in Swift Publisher.Over a period of years I have scanned and cleaned up or restored thousands of old photographs and historic documents, for multiple private publishing projects. The work ranged from simple level adjustment to major repair, including photos that were torn in half or heavily abraded or faded. I also arranged the photos on the pages, and even copyedited the text of several books. The work continues to this day, both on the original project (volume six) and -- through word of mouth -- a new but similar project.

I have designed and programmed databases for a few local companies, including:• MotorWerks of Barrington (auto dealership): An application to track sales in their Accessories Department. System includes receipts and reports, and the handling of multiple tax rates.• Marshall Photography: This company takes student photos for schools. I created a database to track each photo, including distinctions for various special roles such as Valedictorian. The system allows them to switch between data sources (e.g. a separate document/database for each school), and also create "batch reports" that bundle multiple individual reports into a single print job as specified by the user in preferences.

Performed a wide variety of duties as Technical director and as Assistant to the President, including:• Web programming: HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Ajax. In some cases rewrote broken web sites from scratch based on existing designs.• Microsoft Access databases, including Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) functionality• Various scripts in VBA for Word and Excel• Technical Support at two main offices and various site offices, ranging from hardware and software installation and repair, to basic user training.• Proofreading letters and reports

Greater Chicago Area

Performed as both lead singer and backup for other singers at various events with the Georgia Frances Orchestra. Most events were at hotels and banquet venues in the Chicago area; with venues as varied as the Drake Hotel, the Field Museum, and the Chicago Theater. On some occasions I also acted as announcer if the regular band leader was not at an event.

I was a Supervisor and keyholder at two retail mall locations -- first a B. Dalton store in Dundee Illinois, and next a Doubleday Bookseller at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois. (Both chains were owned by Barnes & Noble.)Often in charge of the store and other employees. Variously opened or closed the store; and managed start-of-day and end-of-day bookkeeping, and bank deposits. Creating and maintaining retail displays, organizing back stock for both accessibility and appearance (where visible to customers). Sales, cashier, and customer assistance duties. Organizing and straightening of products.
