Led creation of an interagency working group to envision, design, fund, and seek international consensus for a UN sanctioned, Kenyan-led Multinational Support Unit to Haiti to counter Haitian gangs and bring stability to the Haitian government.

Supported the Assistant Secretary and other bureau principals in the conception and implementation of U.S. foreign policy across the hemisphere. Liaised with other State department bureaus, the Secretary of State’s office, and the greater interagency. Oversaw 2700 bureau employees supporting 29 embassies and 23 consulates in 30 countries from Canada to Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.

Managed 33-person team through the U.S. – Taliban Peace negotiations and preparation for troop withdrawal from Afghanistan; Pakistan's Financial Action Task Force (FATF) process, increased tensions with India; further degradation of human rights and press freedoms. Directed the Embassy’s political reporting through the change in U.S. administration. Acting Political Counselor - four months.

Advanced Mission's top U.S. foreign policy objectives including Pakistan's role in the Afghanistan peace process; the fraught relationship between nuclear-armed Pakistan and India; and our deepening great power competition with China, as well as Iran, Russia, and the Gulf. Supported U.S. efforts to sign an historic peace agreement with the Taliban and negotiations between Resolute Support and the Taliban to secure release of two Western hostages.

Principal political advisor to the Ambassador. Supervised a team of five. Encouraged closer strategic cooperation on border security, migration, Trafficking in Persons (TIP), and counter narcotics advocacy with the Costa Rican Legislative Assembly and the Foreign Ministry. Spearheaded Mission efforts to strengthen Costa Rica's regional engagement under the U.S. Strategy for Central America. Developed and managed Embassy-wide election observation teams throughout the country and reported real-time developments to Washington. Conducted bilateral engagements in Spanish.

Managed the Political-Military Unit covering security and defense, NATO, cyber and space security, counterterrorism, foreign fighters, nuclear nonproliferation, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and British Overseas Territories. Managed team of four. Worked extensively with USNATO, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, NATO’s European Command, and the National Security Council on strategic defense-related policy including the UK's NATO commitments and EU defense and security. Facilitated U.S. and UK interagency negotiations on key bilateral agreements including a 50-year lease extension for our military base on the island of Diego Garcia.

Advocated U.S. foreign policy issues related to Women's Empowerment, Trafficking in Persons, human rights, refugees, labor, Bhutan, and Tibet. Supervised team of six. Engaged in Embassy election monitoring of Indian elections, providing real-time analyses to Washington.

Liaised with and reported on Political Islam and Islamic political parties. Conducted outreach to Indonesia's Muslim community in Indonesian language (Bahasa Indonesia).

Reported on regional issues and the United States' foreign and military aid and diplomatic initiative aimed at combatting Colombian drug cartels and left-wing insurgent groups (Plan Colombia II). Coordinated with Department of Justice to extradite over 160 drug traffickers to the United States. Non-Immigrant Visa Chief on one-year rotation. Monitored Colombian elections as an International Election Observer.

Fraud Prevention Manager. Verified document information and applications. Monitored visa and passport application processes. Assisted travelers in applying for new or emergency passports. Engaged in Embassy election monitoring efforts throughout the capitol.
