After being a homemaker for over 14 years, I completed an AAS Degree in Business Management and am currently working on an AAS Degree in Accounting. I have over 10 years experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Inventory Control. After college I went to work as a PRN Registrar at Parkridge West Hospital in Jasper, TN. I was responsible for entering the patients into the system to be seen or admitted into Mountain View or Outpatient services and then I update their personal and insurance information, assign correct I-plans and ensure all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment as well as billing purposes. I also work the PBX phone systems, transferring calls, answering questions etc. and file the necessary paperwork to comply with company policies and procedures to meet the Medicare 72 hour rule. I have great communication and customer service skills and work well under pressure and alongside others. Since working at Parkridge I have learned to use MEDITECH, ECARE, and One Source programs as well as be able to obtain insurance information for pre-certification procedures for our Outpatient services. This got me the job at Erlanger, where I have been almost 7 years. I schedule patients daily for diagnostic testing as well as update their information for demographics and insurance verification so that precertification can be obtained before their appointments. I work daily on the EPIC system as well as use OneSource for verifications. I have excellent communication skills and look forward to advancing in my field.
