OGL Computer is an IT managed services, support and solutions provider. I joined OGL to create and lead a “new business” sales team of nine focused on selling OGL’s “Cloud” services into the mid-market (£10m-£500m). Working with my team during an initial period of assessment and analysis, we developed a plan to clearly define our market, products, competition, sales approach and targets.Much of my time was spent working with the external salespeople and meeting prospective clients at various stages in the sales process to guide and drive deals forward. I conceived and introduced new sales tools and supported the team with ongoing training during weekly sales meetings and coaching in the field. Meanwhile, coordinating monthly campaigns with the marketing team and building relations with key vendors and distributors (e.g. HP, TechData, Avnet, CIF) which were key to enhancing OGL’s presence in the marketplace. Additionally I drove closer collaboration between sales, technical and account management teams and advised the technical group on priorities for improving service delivery (skills/process/documentation).
