During my time as a PE teacher it is my mission to provide opportunities for my students ‘physical development in the areas of strength, flexibility, coordination, endurance, balance, agility, range of motion, and power. My lessons are inclusive and allow students to develop individual skills and introduce new, fun experiences for lifelong physical fitness. I learned how to identify and respond to the various learning styles as I focus on exposing the students to a variety of physical experiences that are fun, challenging, and appropriate to each child's developmental level. My lessons do not solely focus on physical literacy and physical skills but allow students to develop a range of important cognitive skills, such as decision making and analysis, as well as social skills, such as teamwork and sportsmanship. Being a versatile educator, I have had the opportunity to instruct a wide variety of special-need students, children who functioned below-, on-, and above grade level.As a result, I am a person who assesses each student's unique needs, tailors lesson plans to accommodate diverse interests, develops and adheres to ILPs, and provides individualized support. With the right support in place, I have had excellent results with students who have a history of poor performance. A highlight of each academic year is the sport days and events that I organize. I worked enthusiastically with colleagues, parents, and the school principal to create learning environments that effectively engaged participation by students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. My inborn patience and the ability to work effectively with students have earned me considerable success over the years. I encourage students to construct their learning in an environment that stimulates and helps students to realize their full potential. The range of certificates (rugby, athletics, and health nutrition) achieved during my undergraduate degree enabled me to be involved in coaching the school teams during and after my placement.I am confident in my ability to offer extra-curricular activities as it provides an opportunity for involvement in team games, the development of skills and techniques, and the building of positive relationships with children and staff, as well as the promotion of activity for later in life. On a personal level, I am a team player who is self-reflective, flexible and I am always looking at ways in which I can improve myself. I have high expectations of myself and take my responsibility as a teacher seriously.
