Stephan is a career technical professional, specialising in mining geology, exploration geology and Mineral Resource Management. He has got wide experience across the mining value chain, and is known for his commercial outlook.Apart from being a highly experienced mining and exploration geologist, he is well versed in managing mining technical service teams and mining studies; and has also served in mining General Management roles.Stephan currently serves as the Group QP for Mineral Resources for Sibanye-Stillwater, a multi-national, multi commodity conglomerate, and takes responsibly for all public reporting of Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves. On the business development front, he has taken part in numerous acquisition and divestment exercises and related due diligence studies.Stephan's practical commodity experience covers gold (sedimentary), uranium (sandstone and calcrete hosted), platinum group elements (PGM's) with associated base metals (Cu, Ni, Igneous) and copper (sediment hosted and IOCG). He has also been exposed to various other commodities, such as Li, Zn and Ni.He is registered as a professional geologist with SACNASP, and a member of the Geological Society of SA. Apart from his geological qualifications, he holds a Masters in Business Leadership, a B.Com., a Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Mining) and a Diploma in Project Management.Stephan's career goal is to either head up the technical division (CTO) of a major mining company, or to lead a junior company in the development of their company making project.
