Responsibilities•Underwrite and approve applications for residential mortgage insurance according to the business guidelines and policies•Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service•Manage underwriting/service process for key lender accounts•Maintain up to date knowledge of company policies and products.•Provide underwriting and credit expertise for customers and cross functional partners as required •Handle customer service inquiries, develop strong customer relationships and promote company products and services as an extension of the field sales team•Work effectively in a team setting to accomplish goals and complete tasks•Proactively identify and recommend process improvement opportunitiesQualifications:•In-depth knowledge of credit and mortgage loan underwriting practices•Knowledge of the risk analysis approach and the residential appraisal process (ability to understand and interpret appraisal reports)•Strong math skills and the ability to underwrite self-employed borrowers through analysis of tax returns•Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and leadership skills with experience in peer coaching and development•Strong customer service orientation and negotiation/selling skills•Self starter and results oriented•Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment and to perform well in a high volume, high intensity environment•Ability to make decisions under pressure while adhering to underwriting guidelines
