As the Chief Projects Officer at Ichthion Limited, I directed a groundbreaking environmental project focused on solid waste intervention in the Portoviejo River. I successfully secured implementation licenses and local agreements, and managed a $1 million grant from the Benioff Ocean Initiative. My leadership in developing advanced planning and project management tools significantly enhanced operational efficiency and project success. This not only bolstered the project's impact but also facilitated access to additional funding. My efforts contributed to pioneering environmental solutions and sustainable practices within the region.

As the Undersecretary of Climate Change for Ecuador, I played a key role in advancing the country's environmental and climate objectives on a global stage. I led the development of Ecuador's Nationally Determined Contribution under the Paris Agreement, effectively positioning the nation as a proactive participant in international climate negotiations. My responsibilities included directing Ecuador’s involvement in various international climate forums, where I championed sustainable development and climate resilience aligned with our national priorities. Additionally, I represented Ecuador as the National Designated Authority before key global entities such as the Green Climate Fund, the Adaptation Fund, and Euroclima+, further solidifying our commitment to impactful climate action and international collaboration.

As the National Director of Adaptation to Climate Change for Ecuador, I oversaw the drafting of the policy project proposal, and successfully secured funding, for the development of Ecuador's National Adaptation Plan. This role involved strategic planning and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that the adaptation strategies were comprehensive and aligned with both national and international environmental goals, enhancing Ecuador's resilience to climate impacts.

As an advisor to the Vice Minister of the Environment, my role focused on bridging national environmental policies with local implementation efforts. My responsibilities included supporting local provincial offices in executing national directives effectively, ensuring that environmental policies were adapted and applied consistently across diverse regions. I also supported the Vice Minister in strategic engagements with key public and private stakeholders, facilitating collaborative efforts that advanced the ministry's environmental agenda. Additionally, I represented the ministry in strategic policy discussions, advocating for sustainable practices and policy decisions that aligned with the country's long-term environmental goals, demonstrating a commitment to proactive leadership in the national environmental strategy.

As President of the Overseas Voting Board during the 2017 General Elections, my responsibilities included overseeing critical aspects of electoral integrity and access. The role entailed leading the committee to ensure smooth registration of candidates across three special overseas voting districts and meticulous selection of Voting Table members for all Overseas Voting Centers. Additionally, the position involved supervising the extensive logistics of deploying electoral materials to over 80 countries, ensuring accurate and timely distribution. Also, the chairing of the committee included developing robust vote counting protocols tailored for the 2017 Overseas Voting Special Committee and overseeing the vote tallies for Ecuadorians voting abroad during both electoral rounds, thereby guaranteeing transparency and accuracy in the international electoral process.

Consulted in political campaigns to support comprehensive strategies in research and data analysis, for three national political organizations. My work encompassed developing a roadmap for candidate registration, the appeals process, political delegate training, system audits, and election day logistics. Additionally, I managed preliminary data collection and performed due diligence background checks on potential candidates for general elections. During this period I had the opportunity to consult beyond electoral activities, and executed a post-earthquake productive reactivation strategy for a local food court in Las Gilces, Manabí, under the Small Grants Programme (GEF-UNDP). This initiative focused on enhancing service practices, contributing to the region's economic recovery and community resilience.

As Chief of Staff to the Minister, I avocated for the executive branch's interests during the reforms of the Labor Code in the National Assembly. I acted as a direct liaison with the legislative specialized committee, ensuring that our proposals and interests were effectively communicated and considered in the legislative process. Additionally, I coordinated and supported policy validation processes with the three main national labor unions, facilitating discussions and agreements that were crucial for the agreement of the reforms. This role required a strategic approach to negotiation and collaboration, ensuring that all stakeholders were aligned and the labor reforms met the needs of the workforce while supporting the country's economic objectives.
