In Dr. Caroline Tucker’s lab I maintained freshwater zooplankton, collected data for various experiments, and conducted my own undergraduate research project. My research was focused on determining how bloom conditions of Microcystis aeruginosa affect aspects of fecundity for two zooplankton species. This research has numerous implications for how climate change may alter low trophic level community composition and their resiliency under intense cyanobacterial blooms. In this lab, I worked with a light microscope, prepared media solutions and chemostats for growing algae, and collected data for all the ongoing experiments.
