In this role I utilized skills of diplomacy and collaboration in a strategic way to gain buy-in and create culture change in the Government of Alberta. Status of Women works with all other ministries to ensure policies, programs, and legislation reflect gender and other identity factors. Passionate about the law and business, I commenced a solo practice and later partnered to create GTM LLP. I had the opportunity to conduct many high conflict parenting cases on behalf of my diverse clientele. I also had the pleasure of appearing before the Alberta Court of Appeal on both family and criminal cases. In 2015 I received a successful written judgement on an appeal of sentence: R v Kottusch, 2015 ABCA 93.

As Clerkship student to A. Brown PCJ, I conducted in depth research for a variety of complex criminal cases including child luring, simple assault, and fraud. While I was assigned to Judge Brown, I rotated among the Criminal, Family, and Civil bench of the Provincial Court of Alberta. I assisted with dispute resolution hearings, and prepared drafts of written decisions both in Criminal and Civil court.
