MCUSA is actively working in School Districts across the country to transform the lives of children and adolescents by improving Behavioral Health outcomes through the purposeful utilization of innovative Evidence Based practices.The School Based Mental Health Counselor is a Motivational Coach who leads Psychosocial and Peer support groups, with Evidence Based program strategies in school. Accordingly, the person in the position is responsible for proactively establishing and maintaining supportive and trusting relationships with targeted teens and school administration. Responsibilities:•Obtains Program Registration Form (Client's consent) prior to providing services•Facilitates Psychosocial and/or Substance Abuse treatment services to at-risk youth•Ensures that all documentation is completed in a timely manner i.e. Treatment Plans and assessments•Provides services incorporating MCUSA’s curriculum•Participates in staff trainings as required by MCUSA•Attends weekly case reviews and follows all team protocols•Develops and maintains client records according to MCUSA standards•Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with presenting issues•Establishing supportive and trusting relationships with students and school principal, faculty staff members•Fosters ongoing relationships school administration
