How does one go from IT to hospitality? Allow me to introduce myself and tell you!When I transferred out of field work, I took a traditional “desk job” and found it to be exceptionally monotonous and boring. But it also introduced me to a real estate agent, and that real estate agent opened my eyes to the fact that there was a big gap in the industry when it came to housekeeping services.So, I did what any person looking to escape monotony does - I started my own cleaning company!As Eleanor Roosevelt said “Do one thing each day that scares you.”..Big things can happen if you are willing to take risks. My “one thing” led me to a successful cleaning company and now a role in the hospitality industry. I’ve learned that while I enjoy data analysis, complex spreadsheets, creating procedures, and working with smart and talented co-workers - my true passion is in being able to help others. Whether that be through cleaning homes or leading a team, I find joy in other people’s happiness.When I am not working (which to be honest is VERY rare these days) my first choice of where you’ll find me is on a warm sandy beach. And some causes that are close to my heart are the ASPCA and the Make a Wish Foundation.
