Freelance Training Consultant
With a proven track record of exceeding sales targets in competitive markets and having trained colleagues throughout my career, I decided to focus on becoming a Freelance Sales Training Consultant. As a Fellow of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM), I have been working with large direct sales organisations, developing and delivering their on-going internal sales training programme, consisting of group training and one-to-one coaching sessions. In addition to this, I have also restructured a company's salesperson recruitment and induction process.
National Account Manager
• I was further promoted in 2012 to National Account Manager and was immediately allocated a portfolio of the Top 80 clients with a combined spend of over £1.5 million.• My largest clients included Evander, Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), Swinton Insurance, Interflora and agencies such as TMP Worldwide and Starcom MediaVest Group to name a few.• With this role came added responsibility as I was often dealing with multinational companies and multi discipline media agencies at board level, and additional pressures around pricing, deliverables, account management and SLAs.• One of my key achievements in this role was taking an underperforming account previously sold at £150,000 and by reviewing and restructuring their package, massively improved the delivery of the campaign and resold the account for £400,000.
Regional Account Manager
• My sales performance and account management led me to being promoted after 12 months with the company to a role with a greater focus on account management and growth. As the business evolved I was responsible for introducing and promoting new products to increase revenues.• Within this role I had to review and analyse account performance, prepare and hold regular review meetings, provide ongoing customer service and was the single point of contact for all enquiries.• As of January 2012, the annual turnover of my account base was approximately £350,000.• During my three and a half years in this role, I was Top Account Manager in 2008 and 2009 and averaged around 150% sales to target.
New Business Sales Executive
• Joined 118118 as an innovative start-up business with a unique advertising proposition and for the first three months helped create and optimise sales processes within the new company. I was responsible for the challenging role of generating new business with an unfamiliar product to an uneducated market.• Potential customer leads were self-generated by researching in detail specific industries and locations using both online and off line means.• My role required for me to be fully capable in all aspects of the sales cycle. This included, but was not limited to, diary management, sourcing and meeting the decision maker, preparing and delivering a bespoke sales presentation. I then had to identify the customers’ requirements and tailor a solution for them, negotiate terms and conditions, complete the sale and process the order.• I consistently exceeded targets with the greatest over achievement being December 2007 at 213%. I was also awarded Top Account Manager in Q3 of 2007 and consistently ranked in the top 5% of sales staff.
Unit Manager
Unit Manager (June 03 – November 06) and Party Organiser (Part-Time May 02 – June 03)• Responsible for lead generation of new business through cold calling, canvassing, advertising, recommendations and repeat business in a competitive market place. • Organising and planning parties from start to finish for groups of 6–300 ladies. This would involve arranging venues, refreshments, travel for employees, cat walks, stock levels and managing the event.• I was targeted monthly on both personal and team sales, including regular company objectives and promotional pushes throughout the year which I achieved without exception. • Within a year of joining I was promoted to Unit Manager and successfully built a team of 60 with total sales in excess of £400,000 in a 12 month period.• I had full responsibility for recruiting and training my team, mentoring and motivating them to become successful Party Organisers and potential Unit Managers.• ‘Unit Manager of the Month’ four times (out of a team of 60).• Awarded ‘Top Ten Party Organisers’ of the Month eleven times (out of 1200+ Party Organisers).• ‘Personal Payments Award’ for my Area in 2005, based on personal sales in excess of £40,000.
Customer Service Representative
• Structured a new warranty procedure and a network of all our Customer Service Representatives throughout the world so that we could share information on products and answer customers’ queries more efficiently and more quickly.• Responsible for stocking all EMEA offices with samples.• Co-ordinated the sample products and display material for large exhibitions such as GITEX in Dubai.• Trained and liaised with the technical support teams in the Netherlands and Scotland.
