SCOPE: Engage, challenge, and serve 800 students in grades PreK to 6 and lead 100+ staff. Maximize outcomes for diverse special education, gifted, English learners, and students in poverty. Establish objectives and oversee all aspects of school operations. Develop and administer a multimillion-dollar budget. ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT: Paved the way to Eagle Rock Elementary & Magnet Center earning status as 1 of 25 schools in the country to be named a 2019 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School.  Engaged in strategic academic planning and analyzed student achievement metrics, which resulted in significant annual increases in standardized test scores. Built and maintained strategic relationships across the district and successfully advocated for increases in funding and allocation of capital resources from LAUSD.  Championed a math curriculum that was superior to the district-funded option and engaged in large-scale, year-over-year fundraising that enabled delivery of the curriculum to all Eagle Rock Elementary & Magnet Center students. Realized consistent math gains on state tests annually. Addressed issues related to Title 1 funding for school. Devised strategies and advocated with the district and board to drive changes. Created an alliance and cultivated a partnership with Kids Hope, a community organization that provides social-emotional support to at-risk students. Secured one-on-one mentors that interacted with 80+ Eagle Rock Elementary & Magnet Center students. Cultivated a safe environment, engaged in frequent communication, and remained respectful during the district’s school strike. Hosted a “peace circle” to reunite families and faculty post-strike. Fostered inclusion across several areas, including Eagle Rock Elementary & Magnet Center, a neighborhood school, and 2 magnet schools.  Gained support from key community members and led a multiyear, $350,000 playground greening construction project.

Developed lessons for K-1 focused on text dependent questioning using district adopted curriculum; provided training on lesson design and text dependent questioning to teachers and administrators of LAUSD; participated in CORE professional development with districts throughout California.

SCOPE: Exhibited strong teaching and leadership abilities and a wide-range of technical expertise; selected to partner with administration and faculty in advancing teaching and learning aligned with education standards, district objectives, and state and federal guidelines. ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT: Collaborated with school leadership to analyze performance trends; developed and delivered professional training to 40+ faculty. Engaged in individual and group instructional support that improved overall academic performance. Determined the community’s needs, identified areas for growth, and delivered educational trainings tailored to support parents.  Offered insights and provided operational support to principal in managing the school. Played an instrumental role in categorical program monitoring.

Developed student curriculum that adhered to district learning objectives.ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT: Served as a grade-level lead of faculty members, mentored faculty members throughout respective grade levels.  Leveraged strengths to develop a data-driven instructional cycle; analyzed student data to determine efficacy of instruction and engaged in planning, implementation, and evaluation of program efficiencies. Completed 10 years as a classroom teacher at various schools; worked with multiple age levels and diverse populations, including special education, gifted and talented, and English language learners.
