Translates complex technical information into understandable, audience-appropriate instructional guides for users, developers and administrators on three Department of Defense (DoD) mission-critical projects. Revised NIMHD Web pages to improve readability and plain language as well as created templates and wireframes to redesign the NIMHD website. Composed speeches that the NIMHD Director delivered at national conferences. Defined technical and business processes; drafted standard operating procedures (SOPs) and created work-process diagrams that documented and explained IT processes and procedures.Conducted one-on-one trainings to transition users from Office 2003 to 2007.Improved readability, understanding and 508 compliance for more than 200 Intranet pages.Wrote, edited and sent emergency e-mails regarding computer or network emergencies. These messages gave succinct instructions that addressed serious technical problems.

Created and maintained relationships with several sources including local, state and federal political officials as well as industry experts and insiders.Wrote weekly front page features and covered breaking technology and transportation news. Met rigorous daily and weekly deadlines for print and online publication. Won an Eagle Award, the American City Business Journals (ACBJ) corporation's highest award for achievement. Won first place honors from the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association in 2006 for stories in the following categories: growth/development, religion, series.
