The Women Color in Engineering Collaborative includes a 5-year, $5 million NSF Eddie Bernice Johnson INCLUDES-funded Collaborative Change Consortia focused on developing and strengthening partnerships to better support Women of Color in the engineering workforce. The Consortia is led by SWE along with NSBE, AISES, SHPE, and WEPAN.

The ARC Network is a multi-year, multi-million dollar cooperative agreement with the NSF ADVANCE program that strives to advance STEM equity in academia by convening diverse audiences to collaborate, share, and implement the best practices and tools shown to effect change applying intersectionality and social justice frameworks.

ACCESS+ is an NSF ADVANCE-funded multi-year, multi-million dollar initiative works to increase the number of STEM professional societies (ProS) engaged in advancing intersectional gender equity in STEM. ACCESS+ is also supported by a grant from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund for which I serve as PI.

I serve as Community Engagement Director for WEPAN and its initiatives and NSF-funded grants. In 2021, WEPAN became the home organization for the ARC Network, for which I have led community engagement since 2020. I became Community Engagement Director for the ACCESS+ initiative in 2022.

The #BLACKandSTEM community was started in 2014 to support engagement of Black STEM professionals and advocates.

Future of Research (FoR) champions, engages and empowers early career scientists with evidence-based resources to improve the scientific research endeavor. FoR promotes grassroots advocacy among junior researchers according to its mission, to enable FoR to speak as a voice of junior researchers. FoR also seeks to empower junior researchers by collecting data about academia and scientific training, and make the data available to help them make rational decisions when figuring out how best to use their passion for science to benefit society. I served as the Community Engagement Manager of an NSF ADVANCE funded STEM equity brain trust. This role transitioned to WEPAN in February 2021, when WEPAN became the home organization for the grant.

Research Fellow, American Heart Association Strategically Focused Research Network (SFRN) on Heart Failure. Bridging molecular epidemiology with mechanistic studies of diabetic heart failure. Work includes study of human myocardium and plasma from heart failure patients to determine the unique molecular phenotype of diabetic heart failure; experimentation in animal tissue and mammalian cell lines to determine the mechanistic relationships between circulating biomarkers and disease.

The Hidden No More: STEM Women of Color speaking tour visits colleges and universities around NC featuring the family of "Hidden Figure" Dorothy Vaughan, Jamila Simpson of NC State, Stephani Page of Duke U, and Crystal Harden of Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. Each stop features WoC STEM professionals from the local community!

The Working Group will provide advice on the development, implementation, and analysis of the NIH's Next Gen policy to increase the number of NIH-funded ESIs and EEIs and stabilize the career trajectory of scientists. The working group will report to the Advisory Committee to the Director of the NIH.Charge includes (per NIH ACD): -Review data and analyses to assess the impact of the Next Gen policy on the overall NIH scientific portfolio and workforce trends; -Advise the ACD on activities in support of the aims of the Next Generation Researchers Initiative and biomedical research workforce; -Advise the ACD on the alignment of recommendations with the work of other ACD and internal NIH WGs regarding the demographics of workforce, age, sex, ethnic/racial diversity, MDs vs. PhDs; -Provide consultation on strategies for research community input to NIH initiatives in support of the biomedical research workforce
