I am the instructor for an upper division fluid mechanics course for civil engineers called CEE 171, "Water Resources Engineering". In this course, we cover flow in pipes, pipe networks, open channels, and pumps, and the students complete a design project where they create a water distribution system for a housing development.

As part of a CDC-funded study on the health effects of PFAS exposure, I am developing computational tools to reconstruct the contamination history of a groundwater basin.

As a PhD student, I studied flow in porous media using percolation theory and laboratory experiments, with applications to topics in hydrology and geophysics (primarily carbon sequestration and earthquake-water interactions). On campus, I taught the following courses (as instructor, TA, or reader): The Planet Earth, Atmospheric Physics and Dynamics.

I was the instructor for an introductory geology course called EPS 50, "The Planet Earth". This course included units on the scientific method, the terrestrial planets, geologic time, the biosphere, the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, wind and deserts, minerals and rocks, internal Earth processes, and resources and the environment.

I co-developed and tested a deep subsurface (~10,000 feet) electrical monitoring system for application to carbon sequestration. This technology can be used to locate an injected CO2 plume and, over time, track it and detect leaks past cap rock barriers. On campus, I taught as a TA in Water Resources Engineering.
