My design and communication education began at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) where I studied painting, photography, graphic design, and scientific illustration with renown artist Zbigniew T. Jastrzebski, the senior scientific illustrator at The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design and Visual Communication and soon began working throughout Chicago as a free-lance graphic designer for such companies as AT&T, Scott, Foresman and Company (now Pearson), Ronsley Special Events, Swell Pictures, Wisdom Bridge Theater, and Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide.My wide-ranging expertise encompasses the design of corporate identities, posters and package design. Previously I worked as an art director for New Infinities Productions, a firm founded by Gary Gygax, a pioneer of the fantasy role-playing game industry. I later worked as a marketing analyst at Accenture's (formerly Andersen Consulting) corporate headquarters in Chicago. I have acquired over 10 years of hands-on management of complex, high-profile projects involving multiple stakeholders from the federal, military, and civilian sector. Such projects have included briefings for former U.S. Drug Czar General Barry McCaffrey as well as members of the U.S. Congress. In my role of Chief Creative Strategist for BCI, I am able utilize my unique background in fine art and graphic visualization, cyber intelligence, homeland security, missile defense, and U.S. border protection issues to provide clients brand-specific communications strategies.Over the past nine years, I have served in a number of volunteer roles such teaching and mentoring programs for HOPE Worldwide, and the NAACP’s Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) program. ACT-SO is a year-long achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students.
