I take care of over 450 iPads, 50 MacBooks, 8 Master servers, 450 Getacs Tablets and 500+ desktop windows based desktops.

I maintain the devices both Windows and Mac that are used to service the equipment for the 28 MXG (maintenance squadron). I also maintain the 9 servers that support the 9 Tech Order libraries for the subdivisions of the maintenance group. This includes figuring out if the device or network is causing the problems. I keep the devices up to date as per DOD requirements and Ellsworth rules.

Black Hills Special Services Coop I reported directly to Karen Parry, while I worked with one other Network administrator, together we kept the entire network running. We supported several offices, two factories, and many homes. The main thing our computers were used for was the monitoring program where the nurses check in and update patient records. We also supplied training computers for users of all levels, so we often had to reimage them since many students tried to damage the computers or get around the security we had setup on them. Many of the users were drug dependent or under court order and they often tried to use the system to get to internet sites deemed off limits.

I did the remote installs for the wireless networks. I maintained the servers that allowed the system to function remotely for all the customers.

I started as an entry level serviceman traveling and repairing electronic equipment made by our company. Within 5 years I became the senior serviceman and also became the trainer of all our serviceman and customers. I also worked as customer phone support when I was not traveling worldwide training and repairing our equipment. I then taught myself computers and soon took over the IT department for Thermo and worked that until there was a reduction of force and since I had been with the company for over 17 years I was cut and our jobs were farmed out.
