Overall responsibility for the management of all members of Traincrew (Train Drivers, Train Guards) within Merseyrail - circa 450 employees - including the associated management teams and manage a traincrew budget of £20m+. Currently have 3 traincrew depots across the Merseyrail network with a dedicated local management team at each location. Responsible for the management of employee and industrial relations within the function and ensuring we run a safe, reliable, customer focused train service for the city region.Have supported the business into the number 1 operator position for train punctuality and reliability (PPM) which has seen Merseyrail be recognised as Passenger Operator of the Year (2018 National Rail Awards) and Best Operational Performance (2019 Industry of Rail Operators).

To lead and direct the effective delivery of a safe, reliable train service including compliance with operational safety standards and attainment of defined service delivery targets. Overall responsibility for the customer service standards of Merseyrail Electrics traincrew (including drivers) and the management of standards to support delivery of excellent operational, safety and customer service performance by Merseyrail Guards.

First step into management as a first line manager for a team of Guards. Loved my new role helping colleagues grow and improve.

Moved over to Operations as a Train Guard. Really enjoyed the role and learning about rules and regs.

Started my railway career on the front line as a Station Retailer. Worked at a variety of stations and loved my time in the stations team.
