I am a committed research scientist specialising in the delivery of complex research programs that address productivity limitations in vegetable production systems. These programs I have delivered at a range of levels from regionally based Australian programs through to international bilateral programs (Australia, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam). In these projects I have conducted preliminary scoping studies to identify the priority issues, evaluated the skills profiles of potential team members and partner agencies and the facilities of potential collaborators. I have demonstrated a capacity to elucidate the causal mechanisms of extremely complex agricultural field problems. From this I have negotiated with the funding agencies the project detail, outcomes and deliverables. In these programs I have assembled and managed multidisciplinary teams, including horticulturists, crop/plant physiologists, plant pathologists, plant virologists, entomologists, tissue culturists, soils scientists, socio-economists and extension officers to deliver project outcomes.I have excellent communication skills combined with a basic understanding of Bahasa (Indonesian), Vietnamese and Spanish. I have delivered extension programs and presentations to a broad range of audiences from small farmer groups and individuals through to government and funding providers and research scientists and technical audiences.
