Rigs to be moved to Saudi and reactivated in full compliance with OEM, Class and Aramco Schedule G requirements. Tasked with defining each scopes. This involved constructing WBS, Schedule & Budget based on a detailed gap analysis carried out by myself. Scope involved upgrades / modifications to all aspects of the vessel systems including: - Well control, Safety, Marine, Electrical, Drilling etc. lead the writing of work scopes and outline the acceptance criteria based on Aramco and ADES requirements. Work with senior management to ensure all management goals achieved.

Kanuni Drillship, Reactivation ProjectHead up the Ex Inspection team on the Samsung 6th Gen Drillship Kanuni recently purchased by Turkish Petroleum. Due to regional and contractual requirements the detailed inspection comprised of 3000+ plus items. The rig had never had an Ex inspection before and I had to design a new client specific register. The team was also tasked with repairs of all failed Ex equipment and assisted the client with any additional work. The inspection and repairs were carried out to API, Class and IEC 60079 standards

Various Jack Up Rig Reactivation ProjectsHired by Applus to head up a rig audit team of all disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, Subsea, HSE etc. on various Jack up rig. These pre contract audits then generated punchlist and detailed reports on the rig condition and requirements to bring the rig safely back into operation. The audits were in compliance with oilfield, class and regional requirements & regulations.

Seadrill West Eminence Reactivation Study. Working as part of a small project team tasked with carrying out a complete rig audit of all disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, Subsea etc. on the semi-submersible Seadrill Vessel the West Eminence. This was then followed up with generating a detailed costing and WBS (work breakdown structure) including timeline for the safe restart of the vessel from cold stack

Tasked with running projects on BP’s DWG Platform on the Caspian Sea. From initial EQ raised by the rig through all BP & RDS engineering procedures to final client handover and sign off. Actively involved in managing the project through the engineering, procurement, document control and project execution / construction phases. Ensure compliance throughout the process and manage all BP expectations. Active participation in all meetings, safety issues, 3rd party vendor management and owner of the budget.

Worked in a project team tasked with investigating and estimating a Jack Up builder’s yard claim that they had with their client. This involved a total review of the project design and construction documentation to ascertain non-compliance and verify contractual & Class requirements were met and adhered to. This then required all information to be technically written up for the barristers complete with costings.

Borr Drilling had recently purchased rigs and I was asked to put together and head up the reactivation team. The Borr Frigg (Hercules Resilience) located in Cameroon is a 400ft Keppel Fels “Super A” jack up was the first in line, it had been stacked for almost 4 years. The reactivation included CAT IV inspections of drilling systems, power plant, marine systems, well control re-certification etc.

Headed up technical division of drilling company. Role was to work alongside the new Ops team to integrate rigs into the company. Had active involvement in the daily maintenance of the rigs. Developed processes, maintenance and management systems for assets. The role also consists of ensuring all Flag and Class compliance issues were correctly handled during the handover.

Ensco 5006 Semi-Sub Rig Upgrade ProjectLead commissioning team for a 300 M US$ upgrade. Constraints included budget, timeframe, class change etc. Develop schedule and commission process acceptable to client. Develop timeline inclusive of critical path and sequencing. Final sign off on equipment. Upgrade includes BOP upgrade, new crane, power upgrades, 5 yearly SPS / drilling recertification, etc.

Chirag Platform Drilling Package UpgradeUpgrade Drilling Package. Role in RAM team involved personnel review, project schedule and commissioning. I had leading role in design changes and integration of new systems including Seawater cooling, engine and power upgrades, SCR / VFD retrofits, drilling package re-certification, driller cabin replacement, BOP upgrades etc.

The COSL Singapore office was a new venture by COSL to manage all rigs leaving china to work in the Asia Pan Pacific region. We managed all rigs from Middle East through Asia and Australia. As the company was new, we were involved in putting all the structures in place and making sure all relevant oilfield procedures are adhered to. Our office had complete control of maintenance and equipment over 8 Jack Up rigs working out of the Singapore office. The fleet consists of five Baker Marine Class PPL jack Ups and three KFELS MODV “B” Class. The rigs are all modern Cyberbase and Amphion NOV Systems. All rig maintenance personnel report directly to me on all technical issues. I head up the Singapore support team consisting of 2 electrical engineers, 2 mechanical engineers, 1 structural engineer and 4 purchasing staff. We liaison daily with the rigs on all technical matters, interpret the data and act accordingly.
