Served as manager of the Mapp Lab while continuing post-doctoral research. Engaged in collaborations with several other University of Michigan groups leading to publication of multiple manuscripts in several different fields including inhibitors of cancerous protein-protein interactions, development of novel carbon-11 PET imaging techniques, and exploration of appetite-regulating melanocortin peptides. Managerial work included direct supervision of undergraduate and graduate students as well as post-doctoral researchers as well as organizing and running lab meetings. Finally, served as lab liaison responsible for coordinating with outside technicians for equipment repair and sales representative for acquisition of new equipment and materials.

Designed and developed hybrid peptides, MybLL-tide and CREBLL-tide, the most potent known inhibitors of the Myb/CBP KIX interaction, a vital leukemogenic protein-protein interaction. A Directly mentored 6 graduate, 2 undergraduate, and 1 high school student. Taught two different courses consisting of one large undergraduate organic chemistry class (>250 students) and one multidisciplinary graduate biochemistry class (50-60 students). Research was performed with Dr. Anna Mapp.
