As the Editor in Chief, I was responsible for managing our budget, chairing staff and editor meetings, resolving conflicts in and outside of the organization, and acting as a main point of contact with our printing press and advisors within the university. Most importantly though, I helped oversee the multiple departments that make up The MQ, and worked closely with my Managing editors to delegate responsibilities and tasks, ensuring that our departments can hit their bi-quarterly production goals while producing hard-hitting satire.During this time, I also supported our graphics team when possible using my knowledge of Photoshop, and continued to write satirical articles as I had previously.

As a Graphics Editor, my team and I collaborated across departments to help manage the creation of graphics from conception to publication. I used Adobe Photoshop to edit graphics that appeared in articles and features, as well as on our centerspread and back page. When photoshopping existing graphics wasn't feasible, my team and I also photographed fellow editors to create unique visual gags that would enhance the viewer's experience. During this time, I also continued to write articles for the paper, as I had as a staff writer.

As a staff writer, I generated satirical articles, editorials, briefs, and debate-style write-ups, working closely with content editors to make my pieces ready for print.

While attending college, I was the host of "The Lightfoot Show!" on UC San Diego's student radio, KSDT. During our weekly broadcast, I worked through our massive collection of vinyl records in a "battle of the bands" style, pitting the first half of two albums against each other. The winning record would have its B-side played.
