Working with all Product Leads and Product Line Managers: For all Business Unit barometer products (including npi); for the first time the cost models identify the product cost standard and 3yr forecast in 'line-by-line' detail; providing clear view of specific dept commitments for cost mgt including Chip; GCM Mtrl; Eng yielded qtys; Labor Overhead; Manufacturing Overhead; CM assembly and transformation costs; BU MOH on CM quotes. Cost models empower the Product Lead to illustrate the effectiveness of their plans to meet PLM unit cost targets. Cost models provide summary view of product unit cost versus PLM target, ASP erosion and Standard Margin forecasts. This data informs the PLMs whether current plans support the business case or not; cost models have the 'cost comparator' function that enables the quick and specific identity of differences in base data that most influence the total unit cost when any two quarters are compared.The forecast product unit costs are extracted from the cost models and inserted into the single 'Product Tracker' document to inform the PLM department, providing a convenient view of ALL L7 product inventory codes in demand; thereby informing PLM pricing in response to customer RFQs; and the forecast product unit cost data that the Finance dept use to update the Annual Operating Plan.

External organisations from around the globe would submit their chip designs for Oclaro InP wafer fabrication. Designs conform to Oclaro's 'Process Design Kit' to ensure compatibility with Oclaro Fabrication. Multiple customer designs are consolidated onto the wafer footprint. After fabrication the designs are divided into chips and dispatched to the various customers. Authored the 'PIC Foundry Process Design Kit and Business Process Flow'.

Developed, organised and implemented the 'Manufacturing 1st' Training Course in response to request from the Head of Operations. Combined participation by ALL staff (including outside of Ops) to emphasise that all departments have a part to play in the optimum performance of Operations. A very popular course used for 2,000 staff in Paignton and in Canada.
